Connecting with a church can be challenging. As you come to know us and we get to know you, Hillcrest offers different ways for you to be involved. Involvement may happen quickly or it may take a while. But you will know. You will know the right moment when the Lord shows you it’s time to step up the “faith pace.”
Currently a senior adult class is meeting on site at 9:45 on Sunday mornings. Another adult class meets via Zoom. A page on the website here is dedicated to the instructions on how to connect with this class using Zoom. The choir is in the process of reconvening on Thursday evenings. More information will come regarding the adult choir.
While COVID restrictions have limited us and others in many ways, we have been busy as a church sharpening and reorganizing our K-5 Sunday school. The children’s wing has had a “do-over” from the physical appearance to teaching methods studied by our teachers and the Sunday school do-directors. One of our children’s teachers has taught in the public school system for her career and brings to us a treasure trove of experience and talent for the K-5 children.
By the time we try to safely and responsibly reopen K-5 and other classes of church (such as youth) on the first Sunday in June, we will have begun the construction of a new sanctuary. If all goes well, we will be in the new sanctuary before Thanksgiving!
There’s so much more to share with you and I’m sure you so much you can share with us! I would enjoy meeting you and sharing some time together in any way that fits your schedule. I would like for you to get to know us at Hillcrest, get to know me personally, and we would be blessed to do the same with you!
May the Lord guide your steps and journey with you each and every day!
Clarke Hawkins, Pastor
